Michael has been with ORBIS America since its start in 1999 and is now heading the company as President & CEO. Throughout his time with ORBIS, he has conducted many customer projects in the areas of PLM, production, and logistics as both consultant and project manager.
Michael spent his early school days learning Latin and ancient Greek and gained some practical experience through his wholesaling apprenticeship. After spending a year serving in the army, he went back to school to study business administration with a focus on IT and logistics. After 5 years of conducting SAP projects in Germany, he and some colleagues came to the United States to help our customers here. “Before I knew it, I had spent 20 years in this beautiful country and I’m still looking forward to many new challenges.”
Michael’s favorite book is Hermann Hesse’s Steppe Wolf (Steppenwolf), where the main character struggles to combine one’s responsibilities to lead an intellectual and serious life with the need to enjoy life as well. It does a lot of analysis but does not offer any conclusions, thus teaching one, to find your own way through life.
Despite all work-related travel, Michael loves to travel and explore the world in his spare time as well. He enjoys learning about different cultures, music and food that are out there. Thanks to his dog, Juschka, hiking is now a consistent activity for his family as well.
