Prabhath Atmakur joined the ORBIS America team in June 2024 as an SAP Consultant with a focus on Logistics Execution and Production Planning. “The best part of ORBIS that I have observed is, as consultants we are not restricted to focusing on just our assigned SAP modules. We are encouraged, by leadership, to explore other modules and the time and resources are provided to do that,” shares Prabhath. Since joining the team about 8 months ago, he has had the opportunity to not only work on his modules during projects but also learn so much about other modules in detail, which he never had in the previous companies he has worked for.
Prabhath has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from India and a master’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from University of Maryland, College Park (“Go Terps!!”). He began his career as a Production Planner, where he worked as an SAP End User in the Planning and Procurement department. Once he graduated from his master’s program, he worked with DHL Express as an SAP End User managing their warehouse operations. He later transitioned to an SAP Functional Consultant role and was part of an S/4HANA Implementation project with Menasha Packing where he was responsible for the rollouts of the Production Planning module for their sites in the United States and Canada. He has worked in several industries thus far, including Automobile, Transportation and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG). Prabhath is also an SAP Certified Application Associate in Procurement with SAP ERP 6.0 EhP7.
In his free time, Prabhath is an active member of several basketball groups in the Northern Virginia area, where he plays regularly during the weekdays. Basketball is not only a passion for him, but also a great way to stay fit and socialize with others who share his love for the game. In addition to playing, Prabhath enjoys watching basketball games, as well as following Formula 1 racing and football, which are also among his favorite sports. When he’s not on the court or watching games, Prabhath and his wife enjoy spending their time hiking and traveling.
If given the choice, between competing in the Olympics or directing a movie that was nominated for an Oscar, Prabhath would prefer to compete in the Olympics and hopefully win a gold medal! “I have always admired athletes for their mental focus, strength and conditioning, and competitive spirit,” he shares. While it’s too late for him to pursue a career in athletics at that level, he still aspires to embody some of the traits that make Olympic athletes so remarkable, such as determination, resilience, and a relentless drive to be the best.
